Unique TRAINING Method

Alignment

When we first started to learn the yoga poses, how do we know if the alignment is right? Can we use the alignment techniques for Tree pose to be applied to Triangle Pose? How about Back Bending poses like Wheel Pose or King Cobra Pose? If all the poses have different ques, then you have to learn and remember each and every individual ques. 

Over the years, there are many new yoga poses started to emerge and traditional yoga poses also started to evolve to a different levels. Will you be able to continue to keep up with all the different alignment skills. Indeed this is no easy tasks!!!

So what can you do? How do you learn and remember all the details???

At Inspired Yoga Studio, we have an "Unique Alignment" system that applies to most of the poses. Once you have learned and understood the concept, you will be able to put to use for your regular poses. On top of that, you will have the ideas on how to approach new poses or those you have never done or come across before. That way, you will be able to teach with confidence. With this "Unique Alignment" skills, it will help you to improve and get the result faster.

We highly recommend this alignment system to people who are new to yoga. With this method you will be able to focus on improving your poses, not by chance and by trials and errors. As for those who are experience, it will also be beneficial as we can advise and assist you to deepen and refining your practice. 

Sequencing

When your do your own practice, do you know how to work towards specific poses? For example, if today you want to do King Cobra pose, do you know how to go about it? If you don't or having trouble coming up with ideas, then the sequencing module is for you. We will guide and share with you on how to create a yoga sequence. So, even after the teacher training course, you will know how to practice. That is why even after the course, the trainees continue to make progress. In addition, for those who eventually decide to be a yoga teacher, they are able to plan out a smooth class and guide their own students. 

Sequencing is one of our strength. Many yoga teachers are still facing challenges with the art of sequencing. That's why some of them continue to take up this module to improve their understanding on how to plan the class flow. There is a method to train you to see how the poses work in tandem together and the dynamics of different poses. By understanding the relationships between the poses will allow you to be creative and playful in the art of sequencing. 

Pose Improvements

The above (alignment and sequencing) are the main keys to improve your asanas. However, you should also know your own body as well to fully unlocking your full potential. 

It's very common to hear people comment that he/she is very flexible. But, which part is the body flexible? The shoulders? The hamstring? The spine? Or the entire body? For example, Junko has flexible hamstring while Foo has more mobility in the hip. So in this case, who is more flexible? 

Every pose is different and has its' own challenges. However, the more advance the pose is, the more flexibility and strength it requires. Furthermore, what works for other people might not work for you. We will keep an eye on the entire trainees and give the individuals different tips to fine tuned their practice. That way, you will have a better body awareness to continue to make faster progress.

Anatomy

Anatomy is an important aspect in your yoga practice. It is necessary to know how your own body works. However, this is a difficult and dry subject. So unless you are someone who is keen on biology and wants to know more about the human anatomy, this is a subject that can put you to sleep, literally. At Inspired Yoga Studio, this subject is facilitated by Dr. Ameen, who is a doctor but also a yoga teacher from India. Since Dr. Ameen is also a yoga teacher, he is able to relate what a yoga teacher needs to know and understand in terms of anatomy knowledge. His teaching is interactive, humorous and very informative.

This teacher training is suitable for everyone. It allows you learn at your own abilities. Not everyone is strong or flexible but by learning the tricks and techniques, you are able to progress tremendously. You will also gain confidence to teach and adjust your students without using brute force. When you are equipped with the knowledge, you will be able to deepen your self practise and help others as well.

With the guidance of Master Foo, and using the techniques, she was able to go deeper than before and what she thought was possible. This was done with using the body biomechanics and not thru force. Understanding how to in-corporate strength in the flexibility poses will allow you to go deeper and safer. Finally it was a pain free experience and not a no pain no gain trick.

Module 1 : 

Yoga Philosophy/ Pranayama/ Principles of Alignment

In this module, you will learn about the yoga philosophy and pranayama (yogic breathing). In addition, you will learn the principles of the yoga alignment. This is the perfect module for those who are still new to yoga because you will gain the overview of the yoga practice. Also with proper alignment, you will have a better and safer practice, free from injuries and faster improvements. For those who are more experience, you will also gain insights of the proper alignments and refinements that can be done on the poses.

 

Module 2 : 

Learning Fundamental Poses/ Giving Basic Instructions

Whether you are new or experienced yogi, it is important to understand the fundamental poses. To have a strong foundation also means that you will have the ability to improve much faster. Notice that whenever you struggle with advance poses, you need to go back to foundation. Finally by learning to give instructions, you will learn to appreciate the little cues that are offered by the teachers that can make a lot of differences in your poses.

 

Module 3 : 

Anatomy/ Art of Sequencing/ Pose Improvements

Having some anatomy knowledge will enhance your understanding the human body better and also gives you the idea of why you are struggling with certain poses. Learning to sequence a class is not meant only for teachers but also for those who wants to self practice. Knowing what comes first and slowly build up to a challenging poses allows you to understand how each pose is related and connected to each other. When you understand how things work, you can always plan a 10-15 min self practice with good results. Definitely beneficial for both teachers and self improvements.

 

Module 4 : 

Teaching Skills/ Adjustment/ Teaching Difficult Poses

Teaching is an art and also a science. It is a skill that needs to be learned but can also be refined over time. Knowing when to cue, how to cue, what to demonstrate and what to adjust will differentiate between a good teacher and a great one. Learn how to do all these and teaching any poses will be a breeze.

Asana Intensive Course (Yoga Alliance®) 

For those who do not have the intention of becoming a teacher but would like to learn more about our unique alignment techniques, yo​u can just sign up our asana intensive course. In this course, we will focus mainly on the yoga asanas, which is about 2.5 hours of morning practice in a workshop style. You will learn the techniques and how to apply them in your practice. So by understanding the alignment techniques, you will able to improve the poses and also attempt new poses with confidence. 

Date & Time : Saturday & Sunday  10.00am - 12.30pm, (*only module 1 first weekends Afternoon session: 2.00pm - 5.00pm)

Module 1 : May 10-11

Module 1 & 2: RM 2200 (20 hours)

For those who wants to learn about the foundation of yoga only, you can attend the morning practice and also one weekend of the afternoon session to understand the concept of the yoga alignment that we use. Total hours of the yoga practice is about 20 hours spread thru 4 weekends. 

Module 3: RM 900 (7.5 hours)

If you are keen to explore the intermediate and some advance poses in module 3, you are more than welcome to join us for the morning practice. The total number of hours practise is 7.5 hours spread across 2 weekends. 

 

Module 4: RM 1200 (10 hours)

If your intention is to go deep into your practice and work on the advance poses safely, come and join our module 4 morning practice. It will be a 2.5 hours every morning on Saturday and Sunday. 2  weekends only.
